Electrocity workshop

Electrocity Workshop

Last Wednesday we had a very special visitor, whose name was Stephen. He spoke to us about how we could build our very own Lego city.
At first, we found that all of the desks had been moved because we needed space for the Lego pieces [they were sorted by their colour into various boxes].

Class discussion:

After we had discussed what buildings would be found in a city we had the opportunity to build our own. We used our imaginations and created colourful but large buildings. We planned the details, such as where we would build a road and a train track, which had wires on it so that it could move around the city.

At the end of the day:

After a very long but exciting day we lit up the buildings by using large batteries and crocodile clips. We thought that it looked incredible and very life like! At the end of the session we were able to play with the city and once we’d had our fun we invited other year groups and our parents to come and see our magical creation!

We had a very fun time and would recommend doing this again...

Maths fun!

Look at what we have been doing...

We have been tackling written calculations this week. We have  used the column method to add 2, 3 & 4 digit numbers together.

Mrs Cook has also been getting us to work out simple equations. The calculations have to balance on both sides. There is a link below to a game that can help us with this! Number balance game

Forces in action

We have been learning about different forces - 'Push and pull'. The class have investigated various ways that forces are used in their everyday lives.

Can you spot which force is being used?
