Robot Wars

Today we had a visit form John, who was in the hit TV show, 'Robot Wars'. We had so much fun working in teams to design and build our very own robots.

The winner was lightning, strike and Scarer -  we had so so, so much fun leaning about the epic robots.Our favourite robots were Matilda and Ripper.

Maths fun!

Look at what we have been doing...

We have been tackling written calculations this week. We have  used the column method to add 2, 3 & 4 digit numbers together.

Mrs Cook has also been getting us to work out simple equations. The calculations have to balance on both sides. There is a link below to a game that can help us with this! Number balance game

Forces in action

We have been learning about different forces - 'Push and pull'. The class have investigated various ways that forces are used in their everyday lives.

The weblink below is a really useful site that will help your child to learn their weekly spellings. There is a word bank that includes phonics and topic words and there is also a feature that allows you to enter your childs spellings from their weekly spelling list.

Cave Art

The Children worked extremely hard with their work in Topic last term. They made their very own Cave and art work in order to make it as authentic as possible. They are very proud of their achievements!

They created hand art like the ones found in Lascaux Cave in  Western France.

Did you know that there were two types of  Cave Art. Petroglyphs were pictures carved into stone and  pictographs were pictures carved into stone.

Today Year 3 took part in an art workshop, where they created an amazing display for the main entrance of the School. They used a variety of techniques such as marbling and printing and they all had lots of fun - We cannot wait to see the end product!
